Jos East Council Boss tasks host communities to support his administration with valuable advises

The Executive Chairman, Jos East Local Government Council, Hon. (Pastor) Yakubu Izang Ezekiel, has urged communities hosting the local government secretariat to collaborate with his administration to tackle underdevelopment, poverty and insecurity around secretariat’s environment.

The leader of the host community stakeholders, Ada Danladi A. Sambo charged the Council Chairman to initiate a roundtable discussion with all stakeholders to resolve the menace of insecurity, poverty and infrastructure deficit especially around Angware and other neighbouring communities in the local government. They said, government needs to sit up to really address pertinent issues affecting Angware community, Maigemu district and Jos East as a whole.

The Chairman, concluded that the community where the local government secretariat is located must take ownership, they must identify with it and feel it, he said.”

In attendance were Ada Danladi A. Sambo (Leader), Ada Ezekiel Sambo, Mr. Joseph Azi Agada and Ada Umaru Sambo (representative of the host community); on the side of Jos East authority were; Comrade Ishaku Ayuba Ajang, the Deputy Chairman, Hon. (Mrs.) Naomi Sani Zandi as well as the Chief of Staff to the Executive Chairman of Jos East LGA, Hon. (Chief) James Atang Itsegok, JP. accompanied the Council Chairman to receive the August visitors.

ATTACK ON TAAGBE VILLAGE

 GOVERNOR LALONG OUTRAGED BY ATTACK ON TA'AGBE VILLAGE; DIRECTS SWIFT ARREST OF PERPETRATORS 

Plateau State Governor Simon Bako Lalong is outraged by the reported attack on Ta'agbe village of Miango District in Bassa Local Government Council carried out in the early hours of Friday 26th November 2021 where a number of persons including children were killed and houses burnt. 

Governor Lalong says this is another sad incident which is clearly the handiwork of criminals that are bent on instilling fear, pain and sorrow among the people with a view to destabilising the State and making fortune from their criminality as well as rupturing the substantial peace attained. 

The Governor totally condemns the attack and says there is no explanation that can justify it. He therefore directs security agencies to take immediate and drastic steps to apprehend the perpetrators and ensure that they pay for their crimes. 

Lalong said "the persistent attacks in this general area remains condemnable and unacceptable to Government. As such, no resources and efforts will be spared in painstakingly following up on the trail of those who derive joy in attacking and killing innocent citizens and destroying their homes and means of livelihoods. I expect the security agencies to deploy everything at their disposal to arrest those who carried out the crime no matter how long it takes. Government will not take any excuse for failure to achieve this directive". 

Lalong while commiserating with the victims and families of those killed, assured that they will get justice as Government will stop at nothing to unravel those behind this ugly incidences that continue to disrupt the livelihoods of the people of the Local Government. 

Lalong also directed the Plateau State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) and the Peace Building Agency (PBA) to immediately visit the area and assess the level of damage with a view to carrying out immediate intervention and bringing succour to people who are in need as a result of the barbaric attack. 

He also calls on the people to assist the security agencies with relevant information that will enable them crack the identity and motives of the attacks.

Hon. (Pastor) Yakubu Izang Ezekiel Pays Condolence Visit To Family Of Late Mallam Izagwom Danche.

The Executive Chairman of Jos East Local Government Area, Hon. (Pastor) Yakubu Izang Ezekiel was in Danche Village of Maigemu Ward this morning being Tuesday 23, November, 2021, where he paid condolence visit to the family of the late elderstatesman and a strong APC supporter in Jos East, Late Mallam Izagwom Danche who was shot dead by unknown gunmen at about 4:00pm on Sunday 21-November, 2021.

He described the death of the late Mallam Izagwom as a great loss coming at a time when the local government is in dire need of his wise guidance and counsel.

Hon. (Pastor) Yakubu Izang Ezekiel conveyed  his deepest condolences to the bereaved family as well as  the people of Danche Village Area and the entire Maigemu District over the huge loss,  praying Almighty Allah to grant the deceased Aljannat Firdaus.

Responding, the younger brother the the deceased, Mallam Danche and the Village Head thanked the local government Chairman, Hon. Yakubu Izang Ezekiel and his entourage, which includes; STF Commander, Zarazon, the representative of the DPO Jos East Division, The Chief of Staff, Hon. James Atang Itsegok, JP, the DPM, Jos East LGC and other well-meaning persons for the visit and wish him well in his tenure of office.

This condolence visit culminated with a monthly security meeting held in the Council Chamber, Angware where the paramount ruler, the Adagwom Izere of Izere-nation, Rev. (Dr.) Issac Wakili, JP was in attendance and other royal highnesses in the land.

He believed in fairness and equal treatment of mankind irrespective of Creed, orientation and convictions.
