Hon PST YAKUBU IZANG EZEKIEL celebrate 1year in office with commissioning of projects and giving scholarship to PhD student in Jos east lga
History has it that on the 11th day of October 2021 Hon. Pst.. Yakubu Izang Ezekiel was sworn in as the Executive Chairman of Jos East Local Government Council, therefore the Council Boss deemed it fit to update his constituents on his achievements within the time frame as the Executive Chairman of the great Local Government Council.
Hon. Pst. Yakubu Izang Ezekiel made it clear that upon assumption of Office and amids myriad of challenges, his administration remain resolute in determination to summon the predicaments in line with the 3D campaign slogan which stands for DECISIVE, DETERMINED and DEPENDABLE. The Council boss imediately swing into action by constituting transition Committee with a view not to witch-hunt his predecessors, but to provide a clear cut damarcation; a springboard upon which he started his administration.
The Council Boss painstakingly and carefully channel all energies in specific areas of perceived needs having gauged the pulse of the people during the Electioneering campaign.
The following sectors were given priority in the period under review:
1. Road construction: As a major concern to the good people of Jos East LGA, poor road networks has exposed the people monumental setback thereby hampering accelerated development in the LGA, in his quest to address this challenge, the Council has acquired a Bulldozer, Excavator,as well as a refurbished grader to enable rehabilitation and construction of more roads with minimum capital investment as well as improving IGR Capacity.
2. Electricity: The Council inherited three electrification Projects and has commence the connections of Fobur and Federe which was also been down to the national grid with Fusa. Replacement of electric installation along Gada-Angware-Federe that were destroyed by rainstorm.
3. Water and sanitation: The Council commence the reactivation of over Eighty (80) identified boreholes not in use, and however equally facilitate the drilling of ten (10) new boreholes through the intervention of a non-government organization called Operation Blessing.
4. Telecommunication Service: The Council undertook survey of over ten (10) major Villages in need of communication services, contractors have been engaged for installation of booster communication station in some of the identified areas with the hope of attending to all before the end of the first quarter of next year.
5. Transportation: Upon assumption of Office, the Council embarked on general overhaul of inherited vehicles in order to address operation vehicles deficit. The Chairman's official vehicle, deputy Chairman, legislative Leader, Educational Secretary, staff bus, police surveillance vehicle and vehicles of three (3) District Heads benefited from this gesture. A Toyota Hilux van was also purchased for the Council Secretary as well as a Hummer Bus for the legislative Arm for greater efficiency in the performance of their duties.
6. Staff Welfare: It has been a top priority for the Council Boss that regularly and uninterrupted payment of salary and pension is maintained since his assumption into office. An inherited one (1) months salary arrears of three (3) departments were cleared.
7. Sport and Youths Development: with the support of the Council Boss, the under 18 football team in the last edition of the Federal youth soccer club involving four (4) States, Jos East Team tag as "Ezekiel Boys" emerged victorious by clinching the trophy thereby earning for themselves special award for the Council Boss, and also a place to play in Ghana under the same competition.
8. Health Sector: The Council has been forefront to providing logistics for routine immunization exercises, delivery of hospital equipments as well as Commissioning a National Health Care facility in Maijuju by ALGON. He equally facilitated the donation of a complete solar system to PHC by Digital Company and efforts are ongoing towards powering all Clinics with solar light for effective and efficient service delivery.
9. Education sector: the the council Boss donated one thousand seven hundred and seventy (1770) text books for public schools in Jos East for effective reading Library's.
10. Security sector: the council Boss donated 11 boxers machines to the Local vigilant across each district for proper surveillance.
11. The Council Boss gave bursary assistance to twenty two (22) PHD Students in Jos East LGA each with a sum of two hundred and fifty thousand naira (250,000) to serve as motivation.
12. Completion of 20 lockup shops in Angware which would also generate revenue to the LG.
Awards were also given to personalities who have written their names in gold and have made Izere proud in various ways.

2. Hon. Izam Azi mni (Former Head of Plateau State Civil Service Commission)
3. CSP. Daniel Itse Amah (DPO Kano) now ACP
4. Dr. Samuel Ibrahim Pate (Former Transportation Committee Chairman of Jos East LGC)
5. Chief Barr. Amos Isaac Azi
6. Dr. Mrs. Mary Adija Ogebe - the first female Medical Doctor in Nothern Nigeria
