BLDR. PROF. YOHANNA DANIEL IZAM LEADS CEREMONY, INAUGURATES BLDR. SIR ALDERTON EWA EWA AS 22nd PRESIDENT OF NIOB



In a landmark event held at the Shehu Musa Yar'Adua Center in Abuja, Bldr Sir Alderton Ewa Ewa was formally inaugurated as the 22nd President of the Nigerian Institute of Building (NIOB). The investiture ceremony, which held on Thursday 30th October 2023 was well attended by dignitaries from the build profession, political class and the traditional institution.
The event which took place at the prestigious Shehu Musa Yar'Adua Center, was hosted by the Nigerian Institute Of Building with Bldr. Prof. Yohanna Daniel Izam,, presiding and performing the investiture. The erudite Prof. who is the immediate past President of NIOB added a unique dimension to the ceremony, and also symbolized the continuity and smooth transition of leadership within the prestigious building institute.
Among the distinguished guests at the event were the Honorable Minister of Sports, Sen John Enoh, and the Director-General of FHA, Sen Gbenga Ashaffa whose reaffirmed the recognition and support from governmental bodies towards the NIOB and its pivotal role in the construction sector.
Other important dignitaries at the event include The Vice Chancellors of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) and Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU) as well as the Obong of Calabar, who added a cultural significance to the proceedings. Bldr Dr. Samson Opaluwa, Chairman of the Council of Registered Builders of Nigeria (CORBON), also attended, showcasing the collaborative efforts within the construction sector.
The investiture ceremony not only marked the official appointment of Bldr Sir Alderton Ewa Ewa as the 22nd President of NIOB but also signified a smooth transition under the guidance of the immediate past president, Bldr. Prof. Yohanna Daniel Izam. This collaborative effort showcased the unity and commitment within the NIOB leadership to steer the institute toward greater achievements in the building profession in Nigeria.
